About Tom Hitchman
Tom Hitchman grew up in Western Washington, and currently lives in a home he and his wife built on five acres outside of Tenino. He has had successful careers in the Olympia area as a home builder, lumber and cabinet salesman, and golf professional and instructor. Since becoming certified as a home inspector, he has completed over 600 inspections, and is also a licensed structural pest inspector.
As a contractor, he built seven homes from the ground up, including his own, and has a great understanding of a home’s interrelated systems. He enjoys going through a house with a prospective buyer, explaining his findings in clear and straightforward language, and really helping people understand what they are buying. He puts your interests first and always goes the extra mile to help you get a clear and complete picture of the home being inspected. Tom Hitchman is athletic and fit, and makes every effort to access and inspect even challenging places in the crawl space, attic or vaulted ceilings. Often these extra efforts are worth it when he finds defects or conditions which would otherwise go unnoticed.
Tom Hitchman’s goal is to answer any questions a buyer (or seller) might have about a home’s condition, both in person during the inspection and afterward through his readable but comprehensive reports.
